Just a couple little fixes:

• Fixed “Reply All” menu item
• Updated the list of users you’re following on each twitter timeline refresh to help keep it up to date

New features include:

• Auto preview of shortened links in tweets (idea from UserVoice here and here)
• New tweets are now displayed with different background color (and is themeable) (idea from UserVoice)
• Indicate new tweets on the icon in the system tray (idea from UserVoice)
• Updated the Theme Editor
• Polling for tweets is a little faster
• Added notifications
• Fixed status bar vertical clipping in Windows 7

• When replying to a specific tweet, Twitter will keep the “in reply to” data (from UserVoice)
• Direct Message status block is removed when you reply instead (from UserVoice)
• Tweets can now be favorited and favorites can be viewed in a tab (from UserVoice here and here)
• Shows mini avatar for tweets on a twitter’s profile tab
• Followers, followees and favorites are now being cached so they don’t need to be redownloaded on every startup
• Tweaked the Twitter update frequency mechanism
• Lots of other little fixes and tweaks

Do you have a custom theme you want to submit for others to use or to possibly be in a future release of Bitter? Just paste the xml from your custom theme as a comment to this post. That’s it.

I haven’t updated the blog in a few months even though I have been releasing new versions once or twice a month. Yes, I’ve been a bad boy. So I just put up a post for each version and dated each post to the release date. Yeah, it’s cheating, but, well, I don’t care.

Just added another little feature to Bitter, so that you can login anytime after the initial login. So if Twitter is down (God forbid!) when you first login to Bitter, you can let Bitter continue and then try logging into Twitter later on. Maybe I should add in something that will retry failed logins every few minutes until they work… but that will have to wait for a later release…
